Most people who are facing removal from Canada are entitled to submit a PRRA application. This is the final chance for the applicant to show the government the risk that he or she would face if removed from Canada.

When the government is ready to remove a person from Canada, he or she will be called in to a meeting with an Immigration official, who will explain the PRRA process and give the applicant the PRRA forms. The applicant will be given 15 days to fill out and return the forms, and a further 15 days to submit any supporting evidence.

For failed refugee claimants, the PRRA is an opportunity to present any new evidence that was not available at the time of the refugee hearing. It is therefore very important for failed refugee claimants to continue to collect evidence, even if their claim is refused.

We represent clients in their applications for pre-removal risk assessments.  For further information please contact us at info@vanlehrer.com
